Audrey Thao Berger is a dancer, meditator, and choreographer exploring the transformative power of movement and embodiment. Her work aims to foster healing, connection and belonging through teaching, choreography, and facilitation.
In the words of Prentis Hemphill, "Trauma and the ongoing trauma of oppression can keep us hypervigilant, limiting our ability to dream and vision. Believing we can conjure new worlds is part of how we heal our relationship to imagination and creation." Audrey’s creative practice resonates deeply with this ethos.
Audrey has performed at Arts on Site, Triskellion, and The Place Theater, and her choreography has been featured at the United States of Asian America Festival and the Ruth Asawa School of the Arts. She has received the A4 What Can We Do? Micro-Grant, held fellowships at Motive Brooklyn and University Settlement, and is currently an Artist in Residence at University Settlement for 2024/2025. Audrey brings extensive administrative and production experience from her roles at Sleep No More, the Brooklyn Arts Exchange, and the New York Foundation for the Arts. Audrey holds a BA in dance from the London Contemporary Dance School.
