Audrey Thao Berger is a mixed Vietnamese American choreographer from San Francisco, currently based in New York City. Her work lives at the intersection of ecology, Buddhism, and social transformation, exploring interdependence and reciprocity through movement. Drawing inspiration from natural ecosystems, she examines how adaptive networks of living beings sustain collective survival, resilience, and change.

Her movement practice centers slowness, deep listening, relationship-building, and the reclamation of attention in response to contemporary cultures of urgency, isolation, distraction, and disconnection. Influenced by her Buddhist background and long-term meditation practice, particularly teachings on impermanence and interbeing, Audrey’s work investigates pathways from individualism toward collectivism, cultivating frameworks of mutual aid and community care.

Audrey’s choreography has been presented at the United States of Asian America Festival, The Place Theatre, Arts on Site, and the Ruth Asawa School of the Arts. She has received support from University Settlement, Motive Brooklyn, The Floor, the Brooklyn Arts Council, and the New York State Council on the Arts. In addition to her artistic practice, she brings extensive administrative and production experience from her work with Sleep No More, the Brooklyn Arts Exchange, and the New York Foundation for the Arts. Audrey holds a BA in Dance from the London Contemporary Dance School.
